Pumpkin Decorating Contest:
BACK for 2017: We are challenging the Madison community to a pumpkin decorating contest! We accept pumpkins of all shapes and sizes. Feel free to decorate with paint, glitter, buttons and more! We ask that pumpkins are not carved and please refrain from using straws and balloons to decorate.
We will be judging pumpkins in each of the following three categories: most creative, funniest, and best zoo animal. In each category there will be a child and adult winner.
Pumpkin drop-off will be 2-6pm on Friday, October 27th, & 10 am- Noon on Saturday, October 28th at the Education Pavilion. If you have questions, please contact Hope at hope@vilaszoo.org.
Orangutan-Friendly Halloween Candy:
As part of our committment to animal conservation, Henry Vilas Zoo ensures all candy served at Halloween at the Zoo is made by companies that are members of the Roundtable On Sustainable Palm Oil. You too can support these companies committed to making a difference for wild orangutans and other endangered species by using certified sustainable palm oil that is deforestation free. Check out a complete list of orangutan-friendly Halloween candy, courtesy of Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, posted in the event & on our website.
